Actually the employer is required to give paid holidays if one's employment is "permanent". Approximately it's about one month per year including weekends unless agreed otherwise. There's also general agreements on terms of work on most industries. On average we have more holidays than any other workers of the other countries. That doesn't mean that everyone has that kind of permanent agreement, most commonly shorter contracts are given with less benefits. Working life is actually changing and all those benefits could just be history after maybe about ten years.
